Headed to Bonnaroo to see Elton John and Kanye West? If you’ve got a little boogie in your step, check out the latest release from ICON Interactive—Bonnaroo’s Funkiest Dancer—and you might just wind up on stage.
It doesn’t matter if you’re into Salt ‘n Pepa, New Order, or Skrillex. If you have funky moves, this site is for you. Our big hair and leg warmers inspired interface will give you dance fever and let you submit your dance video and compete for a spot on the Bonnaroo lineup.
Funkiest Dancer is an online dance contest allowing contestants to submit video messages of their funkiest dances to the Bonnaroo team over Skype. The best dances will be added to the Funkiest Dancer website. And the “funkiest” dancers all win a spot at Bonnaroo, performing on the main stage for more than 100,000 fans.
Inspired by popular 80’s dance shows and video games, the user interface includes a responsive site that uses parallax design and scroll libraries to deliver a flickering, neon-lit experience. The CMS backend features an interface that allows Bonnaroo to add videos to the site, count Facebook and Xbox votes, and deliver a JSON feed to populate the Funkiest Dancer site, as well as the accompanying Xbox app.
In the wise words of Martha Graham: “All that is important is this one moment in movement. Make the moment important, vital, and worth living. Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused.”
Don’t be afraid to show off your moves and get funky, both on the dance floor and off.
